Margaret Patricia Beckett (Custer)  was born in Champaign, Illinois on February 6, 1919.  Margaret "Molly" was the youngest child of Otto Glenn Custer and Mary Madelin Sevier.   Molly's mother Mary Madelin past away in November of 1933 and her father, Otto past away the next year in 1934. Molly had three brothers and two sisters of which all preceded her in death.  Molly's siblings were: Frances Barbara, Mary Ann, Benjamin John, Robert Benidick and William Alswisha Custer.

Margaret Patricia Custer married Charles Thomas Beckett  on August 26, 1935 in Waukegan, Illinois at the young age of 16.  They had nine children, three boys and 6 girls. Charles Thomas Beckett, her husband of over 48 years, died on January 31, 1984.  Molly is survived by her nine children, 41 grandchildren, 57 great grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren; she was preceded in death by one of her grandchildren, Richard Travis Spicer.  Charles (Chuck) and Margaret (Molly) are buried side-by-side at Woodlawn Cemetery in Urbana, Illinois.
