On of the most beautiful cities in the World. Sevilla, if you have not been there, begin saving for a ticket to go. We just got back from a vacation in Spain. We spent 5 days in Triana, a barrio of Sevilla. In Triana, we went to the feria of Sevilla, two bull fights and several nights wandering around Sevilla.

One of the many things I found out after developing 8 rolls of picture I took on the trip was 'Don't give up my day job!' If you see a real good picture on my site, know for sure that I borrowed it from someone, just to show you...

The entrance to the feria was only a half a block from our good friends, Don Joaquin and Doņa Antonia Oton's condo were we stayed while in Sevilla and it was very nice to have good friends in Sevilla.
However, if you do not have good friends in Sevilla now, spend a couple of weeks there and you will. The people are extremely friendly and helpful. Now to the feria! What a feria in 1998, this feria had over 1000 casetas. A caseta is a tent were folks would dance. drink and talk. An of course, Sevilla is the heart of Flamenco, SOL.

Probably the bad part of the Sevilla feria was almost all of the casetas were private, if you did not know someone you could not go in that caseta. We look at a lot of the casetas from the outside, because we did not know the person who control that caseta.

One could still get plenty to eat and drink, but again it was restricted. Carmen and I believe the Sevilla feria was not as good as the feria in Puerto De Santa Maria for this one reason. But still, it was fantastic! People of all ages were dressed in their Flamenco outfits. This was a feria for all ages and I believe everyone in Sevilla came at least once.

Horses and carriages were all over. I was quite empresses with the different carriages, some over 150 years old and the beautiful horses. For additional information about Sevilla and/or the 1998 feria one should go to the internet site which has excellent information Sevilla On Line - English or you might want to try The Tourist Office of Spain - English or even go to Sevilla, Capital of the New World - English.

Now, just walking along one of the streets of Triana you will find the building on the left, what a beautiful building.

Day or Night, every were you look, you see the old world culture. What a fantastic place to take a vacation, and no, I do not own stock in Sevilla.

One of the things I like best in Spain is having churros and coffee in the morning. The best location to get churros, according to Joaquin, is here in Sevilla. We got our churros, dough fried in hot oil until crisp, and went across the street to this locate bar and Joaquin told Salud Kalkbrenner, Carmen and I, about Sevilla.
From there we went to the gypsy's to do some shopping. Here you must bargain for the right price.

All around town, especially in the evenings, you will see horse drawn carriages. The folks dressed in the Flamenco outfits and took horse drawn carriages to the bull fights. When you come to Sevilla, make sure you take a ride in one of the many horse drawn carriages, old time taxi, around town. It is a perfect way to see Sevilla.
